According to some people, Shih Tzu breeds even had their own palace and were trained to sit up and wave their paws whenever the queen visited them. Later in 1928, a pair of Shih Tzu was brought to England for the first time and in 1933 in Ireland. Later in 1960, three Shih Tzu clubs were established in American named American Shih Tzu Association, Shish Tzu Club of American and Texas Shih Tzu Society. Later in 1969, the Shih Tzu dog breeds were finally recognized by the American Kennel Club.


The recommended amount of food for a Shih Tzu breed is ½ to 1 cup of high-quality food which you can try to divide into 2 to 3 or more meals a day. it is recommended that you should give your dog high-quality food as possible so that your dog can get enough nutrition. A Shih Tzu dog breed is very small in size so they can not give birth to a lot of puppies. So the average number of puppies a Shih Tzu can give birth to is just 1 to 3. Like every other dog, a Shih Tzu also remains pregnant for 63 to 65 days long. However, if your dog doesn’t give birth on the 65th day then you should talk to the vet and take them for a checkup.

Mostly the symptoms of all of these conditions are redness in eyes, tearing up and irritation. Some can also cause partial or full blindness and even lead to eventual death. So, you should take your dog to the vet as soon as you see any symptoms.
